Combining her love of Irish folklore & passion for Irish music, Helena Byrne regularly performs as a traditional seanchaí (storyteller) & folk singer across Ireland & abroad. Helena’s storytelling interweaves tales of the Other World & the mysterious Fairy Folk with traditional Irish songs & wonderful insights into an Irish life of days gone by.

Akin to the traditional travelling seanchaí of times past, Helena is renowned for bringing her spellbinding stories & songs to diverse audiences in settings large & small. From young to old, Helena will bring your imagination into an Ireland of times' past & carry you into the fascinating world of the Banshee, the Pooka & the supernatural, while emulating the traditional Irish sing-song.

Helena has performed for several companies & tour operators including Adams & Butler Luxury Travel, Irish Luxury Tours, Bunratty Castle & Folkpark, The National Leprechaun Museum, Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre, Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County Libraries, and the Yarn Storytelling Festival in County Wicklow. Helena also performs regularly across the Atlantic, most recently performing for the Irish Ambassador to the U.S. in Washington D.C.

Helena is also a Resident Storyteller for Irish Folk Tours’ show ‘An Evening of Food, Folklore & Fairies’, ranked as TripAdvisor’s Number One ‘Nightlife in Dublin’ event and nominated as CIE Tours ‘Best Evening Performance in Ireland’ 2016.
